Offline games from Silver Dawn Associates Limited, Cornwall.
Loothaven makes small Android games built on anticipation rather than obligation. No accounts, no adverts, no real money anywhere near them. The current release is Cratefall, a collection chase you play entirely offline.
Three rules that decide what goes into a Loothaven game.
A game about chasing rare things can go wrong in obvious ways. These constraints exist so ours cannot, and Cratefall was written inside them from the start.
Nothing in Cratefall can be bought. The currency is earned by playing and spent inside the game, there is no payment library in the build, and no crate has ever cost a penny. The chase is the reward, not the checkout.
Drop rates are fixed weights compiled into the app. They are not tuned to your behaviour, not adjusted by how long you have played, and not different for anyone. The demonstration further down shows the same weights the game uses.
Every crate type, every item and every animation is inside the download. Cratefall opens the same in a tunnel as on wi-fi, because there is nothing to fetch and no server to answer.
Open, collect, complete — an offline collection chase for Android.
Cratefall is about the rush of the reveal. Every crate runs a spinning reel before it lands, drops are weighted by rarity, and the items you unbox stack up in an inventory sorted from commons to the legendaries you are still missing. Earn currency by playing, spend it on more crates, unlock new crate types with their own themed pools and better odds, and work at the gap in your collection until it closes.
The items, the inventory and the collection itself are in the app — that is the whole point of it. What sits below is only the arithmetic underneath: the same weighted roll the game uses, with nothing to keep at the end of it.
Pull the lever as often as you like. The reel lands on a rarity band, and the bars keep score of what you rolled against the odds it was rolled at. No items, no inventory, no currency — just the shape of the maths.
0 rolls so far. The white notch on each bar is the configured chance; the coloured fill is what you have actually landed. They converge slowly, which is exactly why a legendary feels like one.
